Our Rehoming Policy

I agree to the policy.

You must be over 18 years of age to adopt a bird from us, by agreeing to the policy and submitting the form you are agreeing to this.
• We ask that all potential Adopters fill out this form to ensure birds and potential new owners are matched to suit them both.
• Feathers & Tails LTD reserve the right to refuse adoptions to anyone we feel is an unsuitable match.
• Home visits may be requested upon application to adopt the animal, to ensure that they are going to a safe and secure home.
• You must understand that welcoming a bird into your home is a lifestyle change and is a big commitment.
You must be open to having an in depth chat about bird care, diet and behaviour.
You will be agreeing that the bird MUST not be re-sold or re-homed under no circumstances and the bird MUST come back the Feathers & Tails LTD if your circumstances change.
You will need to provide photos and the size of the intended cage you wish to use for the bird, including avian safe UV, multiple toys and multiple perches. *These can be bought from us!*
You must agree to alter your home to ensure it is bird safe, be able to offer a bird enough daily social time, flight time out of the cage and ensure a single bird is not kept alone for long periods during the day on a regular basis. (If you are unsure please speak to us)
Home visits or video call may be requested before adoption is completed.
If you are in rented accommodation, proof of allowance to add the birds to your house may be required.
You will be agreeing to purchase a food pack to ensure the bird is on the same diet and follow our diet guide.
You will be agreeing to follow our advice on care, diet, daily free fly time out of the cage, socialising, behaviour management, access to avian UV, etc! to prevent any health issues and unnecessary stress.
You will be agreeing, that in the unfortunate circumstance you believe the adoption was a mistake or you have a change in circumstances and can no longer give the bird the care he/she needs then the bird MUST be returned back to Feathers & Tails LTD and not sold on / rehomed elsewhere.
You agree to update us on your progress to ensure the bird is doing well and giving Feathers & Tails LTD the right to get in-touch with you for an update.
Must be over 18 years to buy a bird from us, please bring ID.
ID will be required when signing paperwork.
We do not allow impulse re-homes, but we are here to help you make an informed decision before committing to a bird.
